Last Thursday, J.K. Rowling launched the mysterious Pottermore website without giving any hint as to what it was. But today, it was revealed (even if Pottermore is going to be open to all users in October)!
Pottermore will be the exclusive distributor of digital audiobooks and eBooks of the Harry Potter series since before it was only available in print/audio formats.
From source: "Readers will be guided through the books with additional interactive features on key moments in each chapter and 18,000 extra new words of character background and behind-the scenes information written by Ms Rowling exclusively for the site. Readers are given a “magical” identity on joining the site and are selected into one of the four houses in Hogwarts’ wizard school, which compete against each other in online games. From July 31, registered users can compete to become part of the 1m group which will test and contribute to the beta version of the site ahead of the full launch in October. Ms Rowling will continue to add more background content as readers join the site."
