Dodgers Game

My Groupon-inspired summer is off full swing! Thank you $7 Dodger Game (versus the Detroit Tigers) tickets.

Dodger Stadium from the parking lot. When I got out of my car, I was looking in the complete opposite direction going ".... so where is it?"

The first thing we did after finding out where we sat was get an infamous Dodger dog. Because it was a retro day, all food and drinks (excluding alcohol) were half off. SO cheap!

My baseball game buddies, Kim, Jen, Kevin, and Wen

We had the perfect view of the field from where we sat, in the shade too

Around the 5th inning, Farirah made it from her doctor's appointment.

I don't know why but Wen picked my nose.

It was the perfect day for a baseball game and we were lucky to have seats in the shade with a great view of the field.  Especially since most of us knew mostly nothing about baseball, we were able to sit back, talk, eat, and just enjoy at our leisure.

The baseball game itself actually got very intense in the 9th inning. For most of the game, the Tigers led by 2 runs as the Dodgers tried to catch up. In the very last inning with the Dodgers at bat, they had fully loaded bases with only 1 out. They brought out their pinch hitter and you could feel the excitement. If there was a run  or even better, a grand slam, the Dodgers would be that much closer to winning.  Oh Blake, why'd you strike out?! 2 outs. 1 more out and the game would be over and the Dodger's would lose. And who was the last person to bat? Noo not Novarro, the guy that already struck out once when the bases were loaded AND who kept trying to bunt. 1 strike. a couple fouls. 2 strikes. On his very last pitch, to decide the game, he hit a far ball into the left field... only to be caught by the infielder. Dodger's lose. 15 minutes of tension and excitement built up... for NOTHING!

But it's okay. I think we all had a great time. I'm really excited to go to more sports games now. Hockey? Basketball? What's next?

Baseball is always fun with a good group, cheap food, and awesome fans.
